Another deal from NintendoAge. While I was looking to seal my last deal, a user offered me package deal I've been looking for for a while. I finally put my hands on a game I haven't played in ages. It cost me almost 100$ for that game only, so we can say I really wanted it. I got three games out of the deal, all in excellent condition, or almost.

Clearly, the highlight of this is the
Castlevania game. It's the original version with the instructions in color! I paid a little bit more for it, but I really wanted that game. So many memories. The other two came in the package deal. The
Earthworm Jim was in mint condition, but sadly the box got a bit damaged during shipping. It now has a little dent on the side. Also, the
Star Fox cartridge has the back sticker ripped. I can get a new one easily so it's not a problem.

Wow, it's been a while since my last post! I actually bought few games since then, but I've been really busy lately and did not get much time to write about those purchases. I mainly lost all my time working on an overly complex Halloween costume and buying a new condo. You know normal everyday stuff.
At the beginning of the month of October, I managed to snag two great deals on NintendoAge forums. Here's the first one :

SNES CIB Games
I paid 250$ for 9 SNES complete in box including classic titles like
Super Mario Kart and
Super Mario Allstars. All games were in really good condition except for a few like
MS. Pac Man and
Madden NFL 95 but those are less valuable games anyway. The highlight of the pickup is the minty
Super Mario World 2 : Yoshi's Island. The box and manual are in extremely great shape but the cartridge has some scratch.
Not a steal, but those games will definitely take value over time.

I know, it's cliche, but I LOVE hockey!
Surprised that a Canadian loves hockey!? Don't be, I'm not a minority. If you didn't know, hockey world is in crisis. WE ARE IN LOCKOUT! This is going to be a sad and long winter for us Canadians.
But, luckily, we have alternatives. I got the opportunity to get the latest sport video games for cheap. Cheap like in 20$ a piece. So I decided I would kill my boredom by buying NHL 13 and Madden NFL 13
NHL 13 & Madden NFL 13
Nothing special here, just two yearly sport titles. The last
Madden that I bought was 02 so I was a bit overdue. For NHL, well I normally wait 2 years between installments. I bought the football game for
PS3 and the hockey one on
XBOX 360. Why? Not only am I more accustomed to playing the second one on this specific console, but I also tried it on PS3 and the menu felt laggy. I hate laggy UI. For NFL, I did not care so I took it on PS3 since I have less games on it.

I love MMORPG'S!
So it was a no-brainer for me when I bought Guild Wars 2 this weekend. Not only is the first game good, but you cannot go wrong with a game like that when it's free of monthly payment.
Guild Wars 2
I must say that, after playing for a few hours, I'm a bit disappointed by the game. For some reason, I'm not enjoying it as much as I though I would. Maybe it's because I'm only at the beginning but the story seems boring for now. The interfaces is a bit confusing at time and the game is almost only about exploring at the moment.
It's not all bad. Except for the main quest, secondary quest are more dynamic since they are region specific and does require you to do just one specific task. Random dynamic events are fun when more then one player jumps in to kill an elite monster that's destroying a land. I play a necromancer and I must say that I'm not satisfy with how it plays. I'll look for more stimulating skills before I change for another profession.
Nevertheless, it's a solid alternative to
World of Warcraft if monthly fee are not in your morals.
